Some fixtures illuminate a room; this one inhabits it. The Sorane pendant is a perfect paper sphere, handcrafted from ribbed cotton paper stretched over a fine iron frame — a quiet homage to the Japanese andon lanterns that have shaped a century of considered lighting design. Suspended from a slender cord, it reads as sculpture by day and glows as a soft, moonlike orb by night.
Handcrafted, Never Uniform
Each shade is individually pleated and wrapped by hand, so the fine ribbing across its surface catches light in subtle, irregular patterns — no two pendants are perfectly identical. The cotton paper diffuses illumination evenly across its entire surface, producing a wide, shadow-free glow rather than a single hot point of light. It is this handmade imperfection, in the true wabi-sabi spirit, that gives the piece its warmth.
Five Sizes, One Sensibility
From an intimate Ø30cm accent above a nightstand to an architectural Ø80cm statement over a dining table, Sorane scales to the room without losing its essential form. The 150cm suspension cord is fully adjustable at installation, so the sphere can be hung at precisely the height a space calls for.
Light, Tuned to the Moment
Choose from Cold White, Warm White, or a softer Light Yellow glow — or opt for the changeable version, which shifts between tones via its wall control to match morning routines, dinners, or quiet evenings. Every configuration runs on a standard E27 base at 90–260V, dimmable for finer control over the mood.
A Frame to Match the Room
The canopy and cord are finished in either black or white, chosen to disappear into the ceiling or stand in quiet contrast to it. Beneath the paper's warmth, the hardware is built to install cleanly and hang securely for years of everyday use — a fixture that only grows more characterful with time.
