Stenvald begins with a paradox: a disc of terrazzo, cool and mineral to the touch, that turns luminous the moment it's switched on. Fragments of natural stone are set into the composite in irregular constellations, and it's through these very fissures that the light escapes—soft, golden, and unpredictable, no two shadows quite the same. By day it reads as a quiet sculptural object. By night, it becomes something closer to a lantern carved from rock.

An Arm That Finds Its Angle

Set slightly off-centre, a cylindrical arm in solid wood pivots up and down against the stone, aiming its beam exactly where it's needed—onto a book, a doorway, a pillow. The joint is deliberately visible, a small piece of exposed hardware that gives the whole fixture an honest, considered mechanics. At just 11 cm of projection from the wall and 20 cm across, Stenvald holds a strong presence without ever crowding a nightstand or hallway.

Two Kinds of Light, One Fixture

Behind the terrazzo, a low-wattage LED washes the stone from within, casting an ambient glow through its natural openings. In front, the wood arm houses a standard E27 socket, ready for the bulb of your choosing, up to 60W, for a focused reading or accent light. Together they let Stenvald shift from a gentle night-light to a directional spot with nothing more than a bulb change—both delivered in the same warm white tone.

Choose How It Switches On

Stenvald ships in three configurations to suit however your wall is wired: a switch-free version for fixtures already tied to a wall switch, a plug-in version with a 1.8 m cord and interchangeable US, EU, AU and UK adapters, or a pull-chain version with a 40 cm chain for independent, on-fixture control. Each is finished identically in terrazzo and solid wood—only the way you turn it on changes.
