Dome meets pole, amber meets walnut

Pvrix is a floor lamp in the tradition of the great mid-century mushroom forms — the Panthella, the Satellite — but without the reproduction premium. A wide, glossy dome in double-layer acrylic, amber inside and out, sits atop a slender pole finished in a rich walnut tone, both as if they have been together since 1968. The dome faces downward, pooling warm light onto whatever sits beneath: a reading chair, a low table, a place on the floor. A bead-chain pull switch sits within reach of the hand, and an inline foot pedal on the 2.5 m cord means the lamp can be switched on without bending at all.

The amber interior

The key quality of Pvrix is its colour. The interior of the dome — like the exterior — is amber. Every photon that bounces off the inside surface takes on warmth before it reaches the room. This is incandescent-quality light even with a modern LED bulb: amber, honeyed, intimate. Evening light.

Three ways to light it

Pvrix comes in three light types, chosen at checkout: a Warm White version for that classic amber glow, a Cool White version for a crisper, more contemporary cast, and a 3-Color Switchable version that moves between warm, neutral and cool light at the touch of the switch — one lamp, three moods.

In a room

This lamp reads as a designed object even when unlit. The combination of the glossy amber dome and the walnut-toned pole is a studied composition — related tones, different textures, and that relationship is the point. Standing 153 cm tall on a stable 30 cm iron base, it holds its ground beside a sofa or reading chair without asking for extra space. It is a lamp that earns its place in a room.
