The Kinori is the product of a very old skill applied to a very simple ambition: to hang something beautiful from a ceiling. Its shade is hand-woven bamboo and rattan — the same materials used in Japanese basket craft for centuries — shaped into a sinuous, figure-eight form that reads as both cloud and knot. Beneath it, anything feels more considered.

The woven shade: a study in shadow

The diamond lattice of the weave does not simply diffuse light — it patterns it. At night, the bulb inside casts a grid of warm shadows across ceilings and walls, transforming a flat surface into a textured canvas. Every hour the shade is lit, the room is slightly different: the geometry shifts with the eye's position, the mood shifts with the light source.

A form that bridges East and West

The Kinori's aesthetic draws from Japanese and Southeast Asian basketry traditions, but translates them into a silhouette that is equally at home in a Scandi bedroom or a Japandi dining room. Its neutral bamboo tone — warm, honey-golden — coordinates with linens, rattan furniture, plywood, and oak without conflict.

Two cord lengths, one intention

Choose 1.2M for standard ceiling heights (2.4–2.8m rooms) or 1.5M for taller spaces (3m+). The cord is adjustable at the canopy, so either option can be fine-tuned after installation. The canopy itself is a matching bamboo tone: nothing metal, nothing that interrupts the material language of the shade.

E27 socket: light source of your choice

A warm-white filament bulb (not included) makes the lattice come alive. A globe LED (G95 or G125) is equally at home — its rounded form visible through the weave, glowing like a captured lantern. Avoid spotlights or directional bulbs: the Kinori is designed for omni-directional warmth.

For dining rooms, bedrooms, and living rooms

Hang the Kinori above a round dining table for a dinner atmosphere that references open-air pavilions and slow meals. Use it in a bedroom above a low platform bed for a sense of natural calm. In a living room, it anchors a seating area without imposing — it is a lamp that invites, not commands.
