Virella's broad mushroom shade is shaped from natural alabaster — a translucent stone that, when lit from within, reveals a landscape of veins and clouds unique to every piece. No two Virella lamps are identical. The cylindrical body and flat base are carved from the same material, making the lamp appear as if it were grown rather than assembled.

Light Through Stone

The quality of light that alabaster produces cannot be replicated. It is soft, warm, and three-dimensional — the lamp seems to glow from within, rather than to emit light outward. At full brightness it illuminates; dimmed low, it becomes pure atmosphere.
