Ancienthos brings raw travertine into the home exactly as geology made it — porous, veined, unrepeatable. No two pieces read quite the same way, and that variation is the point: this is lighting built from a material with its own history, not a finish designed to imitate one.
A Ribbed Silhouette in Warm Travertine
The stone body is shaped into a softly ribbed cylinder, its warm beige surface left honest and unpolished in the wabi-sabi tradition — natural pockmarks and mineral striations included rather than sanded away. Set against a wall, it reads first as sculpture, its texture shifting with the light of the day.
Brass Arm, Considered Proportion
A slender brushed-brass arm extends the stone forward from a discreet circular backplate, holding an exposed glass globe bulb just above it. The hardware is kept deliberately quiet — no ornamentation, no bulk — so the material does the talking.
A Glow for Quiet Corners
Lit, the globe casts a warm, diffused pool of light across the stone and the wall behind it, equally suited to a stairwell landing, a bedside wall, or a narrow entryway. It is a fixture built for in-between spaces — the ones that ask for atmosphere rather than brightness.
