The Farlux Object

Farlux is a rough cylindrical column of travertine stone — irregular in surface, pitted, tonal — set at a slight cant, with its top open to reveal a warm light within. The stone is opaque; the light does not pass through. Instead, it pools upward from the interior and spills out the open top as a halo on the ceiling above. The exterior remains as stone: textured, geological, ancient-feeling.
