A Lamp Held by a Counterweight

Irix hangs from two points on the ceiling. A wire runs from the canopy down to a slim cylinder weight with a brass joint, then up to a small pulley and down to a wide flat cone shade. Pull the shade down or push it up: the counterweight holds it at the exact height you leave it, without any knot or clip.

Where It Works

Above a dining table, a kitchen island or a desk, or offset beside a bed: since the shade hangs from the pulley and not from the canopy, it can sit away from the electrical outlet in the ceiling. One lamp lights 8 to 12 m².

Black or White

Matte black or matte white metal, both with a brass joint. Under the 42 cm shade, a white globe E27 LED bulb (15 W, included) gives warm, neutral or cool white light, chosen when ordering.

Installation

Hardwired ceiling pendant, AC 90-260 V. Canopy Ø15 cm and pulley fixed separately; 300 cm wire, adjustable and can be shortened. Installation by an electrician recommended.
