Some forms need no ornament. Cemendris is a single unbroken line — a slender neck flaring into a wide, silent cone — cast in raw cement composite and left honest, texture and all. It reads as sculpture first, light source second, the kind of object that holds a room's attention even switched off.
Cast by Hand, Finished with Restraint
Each shade is poured in a cement-based composite, its surface flecked with fine natural aggregate that catches light differently depending on the hour. No two pieces are perfectly identical — a quiet reminder that this is cast, not molded plastic. A matte aluminum stem connects the shade to a slim ceiling canopy, grounding the concrete in a cooler, more architectural material.
Warm Light, Carefully Tuned
An E27 filament bulb (4W LED, 2700–3000K, included) sits recessed inside the cone, so the light spills downward in a soft, focused pool rather than glaring outward. The warm color temperature was chosen deliberately — this is a fixture for evenings, for the last hour at the table, not for clinical task lighting.
Sized to Sit Close
At 15 cm in diameter and 35 cm tall, Cemendris is intentionally intimate in scale — built to be hung low, in a cluster or alone, rather than to dominate a ceiling. The cord adjusts up to 180 cm, giving enough range to drop it precisely over an island counter, a small dining table, or a reading corner.
