The Form of Light Itself

Yolux takes its cue from the cross-section of a tree trunk and the folded geometry of Japanese paper craft. Dozens of thin wood veneer blades curve and twist around a central axis, spiralling upward like growth rings caught mid-motion. It reads as sculpture first, light fixture second — a piece that holds its own even switched off.

Light Through the Grain

Each blade is cut just thin enough to let light pass between the layers, glowing amber from within and casting a soft geometric pattern of shadow and warmth across the ceiling and walls around it. At 44 cm across, the effect reads as a lantern by night and a carved wood sculpture by day.

Two Woods, One Sensibility

In walnut, the tones run deep and rich, almost espresso-dark — suited to dining rooms built around dark or jewel-toned palettes. In natural wood, the effect is paler and more Scandinavian, letting the grain read as honey and straw under direct light. Both share the same silhouette; only the mood shifts.
