The Form of Frozen Light

Velmoria takes one of glassmaking's oldest effects — controlled crackle work, where the surface is fractured under heat and set into a fixed, permanent pattern — and builds an entire wall light around it. Behind the glass, a hidden LED source washes outward, catching every fracture line and scattering it into hundreds of small points of light. By day the disc reads as sculpture; after dark, it becomes something closer to a held flame.

Two Reads of the Same Idea

Clear glass renders the crackle in silver and white — cool, transparent, almost architectural. Amber glass carries the same fracture pattern in gold and honey tones, closer to firelight than daylight. Both versions share an identical brass-toned frame and centre cap; only the mood shifts.

A Warm Centre, A Cool Edge

At the heart of the disc sits a pale, stone-effect cap held within an aged-brass ring — a quiet, still point against the restless texture of the glass around it. The light source is hidden entirely behind this cap, so what reaches the wall is indirect: a halo of warm white light, never a glare.

Velmoria comes in two diameters — a compact 22 cm version suited to grouping in twos or threes along a hallway or stairwell, and a 35 cm size for a single, confident gesture above a console or bed. Both mount flush to the wall on a hardwired connection — no visible cable, no shade to dust.
