Design

Elriven strips the wall sconce to its essential gesture: a curved fabric panel, mounted flat against the wall, through which warm light floods in both directions. The dark frame at top and bottom is barely visible, allowing the linen to dominate. The light spills upward and downward in equal measure, washing the wall in a gentle gradient that makes even plain plaster beautiful.

Atmosphere

At its most beautiful in a bedroom above a headboard, in a long hallway where multiple units create a rhythm of light, or in a dining room as a soft alternative to overhead fixtures. The uplighting effect on the ceiling adds height to any room.
