An Object of Pure Composition

The Orbivex is not a conventional wall sconce. It is a wall-mounted sculpture: a large clear glass disc encloses a smaller frosted inner dome, at the centre of which sits a satin brass element that hides the light source entirely. When switched off, it reads as a refined object of glass and metal. When switched on, it becomes a luminous composition — layered, depth-rich, and unlike anything else on the wall.

The Language of Circles

Every element of the Orbivex is circular. The outer glass disc is a 23 cm lens. Inside it, a frosted dome diffuses the light into a warm, even glow. At the centre, a brushed brass pebble anchors the composition. The result is a target-like visual — concentric, centred, and possessed of a quiet geometric authority that holds the eye from across the room.

Light Without a Source

The Orbivex is entirely sourceless from the viewer's perspective. Its integrated LED is sealed behind the brass element, invisible from any normal viewing angle. What you see instead is a soft emanation from within the glass — a glow rather than a beam, a warmth rather than a brightness. The effect is more like a moon than a lamp, and it transforms the wall into something contemplative.

Glass That Earns Its Place

The outer disc is clear glass — optically clear, edge-polished, and precisely dimensioned. The inner dome is sandblasted to a fine frosted finish that creates the diffusion needed for smooth, sourceless light. The combination of transparency and opacity creates a visual depth that flat metal sconces simply cannot achieve.

A Study in Restraint

"Charme Antique" described it inadequately. The Orbivex is not about ornamentation or nostalgia — it is a piece of considered reduction. It could sit in a Haussmann apartment or a Tadao Ando concrete house. The brass references warmth; the glass references clarity; together they make something that belongs to now.
