A Silhouette Borrowed From Old France
Long before pendant lighting became a design statement, French glassblowers were shaping milk glass into soft, fluted spheres — the kind that still hang above farmhouse kitchens and Parisian stairwells a century later. Vellora revives that silhouette: a hand-fluted glass shade, gently ribbed like a garden gourd, suspended from an aged-brass rod. It is unmistakably vintage, without feeling like a reproduction.
Hand-Fluted Glass, Aged Brass
Each shade is pressed and fluted by hand, giving every panel a faint, individual curve that catches light unevenly — the opposite of a flawless mass-produced globe. The fittings — canopy, rod, and finial — are cast in brass with a warm, aged patina, finished with a small floral medallion at the ceiling plate. It is a fixture built the old way, and it shows.
Milk White or Emerald Green
Vellora comes in two glass tones: a soft, opaline Milk White that glows evenly when lit, or a deeper Emerald Green that reads almost jewel-like against brass. Both share the same fluted silhouette and the same handmade character — the choice is purely one of mood.
Three Silhouettes, One Sensibility
Choose the compact Small Lantern for a bedside table or reading nook, the rounder Medium Globe for a breakfast table or hallway, or the generous Large Globe — a full 38cm across — as a genuine centrepiece over a kitchen island or dining table. Each size keeps its own proportions rather than simply scaling up, so the silhouette stays balanced at every scale.
Warm, Cool, or Tunable
Fitted with a single E14 socket, Vellora ships ready for a bulb of your choice: Cool White for a crisp, contemporary edge, Warm White for an intimate glow, or a 3-step Tunable White bulb that lets you shift between the two — and a neutral in-between — with a simple pull of the switch.
